Tips for Finding the Best Fireworks Spot at The Red, Hot and Blue Extravaganza

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Organizers of the 16th Annual Red Hot & Blue Festival and Fireworks Extravaganza in The Woodlands say the key to settling into the best place to watch the fireworks is to try out your spot during the test fireworks that start 30 minutes before the actual show.

Three fireworks test shots will be conducted every 10 minutes starting at 8:40 p.m. until 9:10 p.m. The Fireworks Extravaganza, presented by BBVA Compass and The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau, will begin minutes after the final test shot. This year, the Red, Hot & Blue Fireworks Extravaganza on July 4, 2013, will be launched from two locations – Timberloch Place near I-45 and the Waterway Plaza Parking Garage near Waterway Square.

“That’s really the best way to determine if you’re in the best spot,” says Nick Wolda, president of The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau. “We understand as The Woodlands has seen the rise of office space and the maturation of trees throughout the Town Center, not all viewpoints will be the same.

Tips for Finding the Best Fireworks Spot at The Red, Hot and Blue Extravaganza_1Wolda adds most areas along The Woodlands Waterway should be suitable for viewing, but adds, “There are some lines of sight caused by buildings and trees where a viewer may not see the entire view. With the exception of the area under construction for the new Anadarko Tower, most areas along The Woodlands Waterway® should be suitable for viewing the Fireworks Extravaganza. Live music will be playing at Waterway Square and Town GreenWolda adds most areas along Park.”

One of the Houston area’s largest fireworks displays, the dazzling 20- minute show will follow a full day of Fourth of July activities including a parade, live music, children’s activities, H-E-B hot dog and watermelon eating contests and more. The show is also simulcast on Sunny 99.1 FM.
