THE WOODLANDS, TX – (Thursday, September 26, 2013).  Local Bear Scout with Pack 777, eight year old Rafe Kotalik has a passion for supporting local causes that are dear to him with Interfaith of The Woodlands being the beneficiary of his extraordinary efforts.  Rafe, along with the help of his two brothers Jarrett and Noah, spearheaded a book drive as part of an annual Back to School event he conducts every year.  More than 580 books were collected and will be placed in the client waiting room at Interfaith of The Woodlands.  “I really wanted to encourage my friends and neighbors to support an organization I believe does a lot for our community,” said Rafe.

Rafe’s previous efforts include hosting a Scouting for Food event where he asked his school mates to join him in distributing paper bags to be filled with food for the Interfaith Food Pantry.   Together they collected and donated 2,000 pounds of food for the pantry.  Also during the 2013 Scouting for Food effort, Rafe and his brothers went door to door and collected an additional 900 pounds of food.  “My younger brother, Rafe, encourages us to help in our community. He is an inspiration to us that he is so devoted to helping others so we want to help him with these projects,” said Rafe’s brother Noah.

“Rafe and his brother’s efforts on behalf of Interfaith is nothing short of incredible.  These three talented young men are an inspiration to other young people and are Pictureobviously future leaders.  We are extremely grateful for their support of Interfaith and their dedication to our community,” said Dr. Ann Snyder, President and CEO of Interfaith of The Woodlands.
