Get Fit in February at The Woodlands Children’s Museum

getfitTHE WOODLANDS, TX – Most adults are familiar with the challenge of keeping New Year’s resolutions to stay healthy – and that goal may be even more difficult for children and teens.

To help families achieve their goals, The Woodlands Children’s Museum is hosting a week-long program called Get Fit February.

The museum, located at 4775 W. Panther Creek Drive, Suite 280, has a number of informative presentations and fun activities planned around boosting healthy lifestyles from Feb. 17 to 22.

The programs include:

  • Yoga with Thais from KIDZYOGA from 10: 30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 17

  • Healthy Dental Habits with Dr. Feuquay from Alden Bridge Pediatric Dentistry noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18

  • Air Guitarist Taylor Fulbright from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19

  • Get Fit with play! From 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20

  • Fun with Hula Hoops with instructor Madison McBurney from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 21

  • Little Fit with Gold’s Gym, Magnolia location, 11:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Feb. 22.

The museum is guided by the We Can! (Ways to Enhance Children’s Activity and Nutrition) effort — a national movement designed to give parents, caregivers, and entire communities a way to help children 8 to 13 years old and their parents stay at a healthy weight.

The museum is part of the Museum on the Move and Good to Grow national health initiatives as well.

We are on a mission to educate and empower children and their families when it comes to health and fitness, the museums executive director Angela Colton said. We have planned a week of exciting presentations and activities to keep families active throughout the year.

Get Fit February events are included in the cost of museum admission of $5 per person. Check the museum’s online calendar, www.woodlandschildrensmuseum.org or call 281-465-0955, for up-to-date information.
