3rd Annual Golf Tournament to Benefit Be An Angel Honoring Larry Dierker and Betty Johnston

HOUSTON, TX – Presented by Title Sponsor, Insperity, Dan Pastorini’s Third Annual Celebrity Golf Invitational will be held on Monday, October 20 at Sugar Creek Country Club, 420 Sugar Creek Blvd.,Sugar Land, TX 77478. On Sunday, October 19a TEXAS HOLD’EM POKER PARTY will begin at 1:00 PM followed by the Pre-Tournament party  at 5:30 PM in the Grand Ballroom at the Marriott Sugar Land Town Square, 16090 City Walk, Sugar Land, TX 77479.

Participants will have the opportunity to mingle with numerous celebrities from both entertainment and pro sports plus several media members.

Larry Dierker and Betty Johnston will be honored with the Dan Pastorini Halo Humanitarian Award, which recognizes extraordinary people who actively improve the lives of those in need through selfless, courageous, creative and compassionate acts. Dierker, former Houston Astros pitcher, manager and broadcaster is a force for Literacy Advance in Houston.  Dierker also spends countless hours teaching reading to many who have not had the opportunity to learn.  Johnston has been the strength of many charitable efforts in Houston including the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, Crystal Foundation, Bum and the Boys, Be An Angel, Literacy Advance, Dan Pastorini Charity and many more. Both Dierker and Johnston are dynamic in their philanthropic and fundraising efforts.

Proceeds from the tournament will support Be An Angel in its mission to improve the quality of life for children with multiple disabilities or profound deafness.  Funds will be used to purchase life-changing equipment and provide incredible learning opportunities and new experiences for the children Be An Angel serves.
