Director of Golf at The Club at Carlton Woods, Mark Steinbauer has been chosen Captain of the Southern Texas PGA’s 2015 Texas Joe Black Cup team. The STPGA will host this year’s Ryder Cup-style competition against a team of Northern Texas PGA Professionals on November 1-3 at Horseshoe Bay Resort.
“I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am about this appointment,” said Steinbauer. “The Texas Joe Black Cup Matches are something all PGA Professionals in Texas strive to be part of at some point in their career, whether it be as a player, captain, or assistant captain. I want everyone associated with this year’s event to leave thinking it was one of the best experiences of their career.”
Steinbauer, who became a PGA Professional in 1986, is widely considered a leader in the industry. He has served as a subject matter expert on the PGA of America’s Education Committee and has been a national faculty member since 1994. He has also served on the Committee for the PGA Teaching and Coaching Summit.
In August of 2010, Steinbauer’s book 18 Game Changing Lessons was released, focusing on mentoring and relationships. Steinbauer has been recognized by GOLF Magazine as one of the Top 100 Teachers in America, and by Golf Digest Magazine as one of America’s 50 Greatest Teachers.
