Husband and wife team Will and Nicole Buckman of the famous CorkScrew BBQ, posted on the CorkScrew Facebook page,
“Tomorrow is the day!! We are ready to sling some Q, come on and eat! Opening at 11am, bring it!”
That post got lots of LOVE with over 800 likes, 100 shares and lots of comments! The Woodlands Journal was able to get inside on the soft opening today at the new location located at 26608 Keith Street in the heart of Old Town Spring and capture some of the excitement.

At CorkScrew people definitely take pride in getting to be number 1 in line. This is a tradition carried over from the previous location.

I can tell you that native Spring resident, Connie Douglas was more than excited and can take bragging rights for being number 1 today on the soft opening! She has been going to Corkscrew from the beginning she said, “I used to not have to wait in a line back then, but now I would wait in line as long as it takes!” Connie shared her delicious looking order with us which was a pound of sliced beef, half rack of ribs, mac and cheese, beans and coleslaw. “I’ll be back Saturday for the grand opening to get the chicken I’ve been waiting for.” said Connie.

My mouth watered as I spoke to 2 locals Bill Manning and Erika (Red Reedy) about their favorite thing to order. A CorkScrew potato fully loaded with pico, pulled pork, coleslaw, and check this out, GREEN CHILI RANCH on top. This couple also ordered the freshly made cherry cobbler.

corkscrew outside
Outside seating similar to the seating at the previous location. We’ll see how long this cover takes to fill up with cool stickers! Hopefully it’s allowed here like it was at their last location. Photo: Kristin Blanchard for The Woodlands Journal

The new location is similar to the outdoor atmosphere at the last location on Budde Road, but they also have a nice indoor seating area that appears to hold a little over 60 people. If you’re wondering the hours, well let’s face it, THEY WILL most likely SELL OUT DAILY! They posted on social media tonight, SOLD OUT at 5:45 pm.

Don’t miss the official Grand Opening this Saturday, October 3rd. Let’show the Buckmans how much we missed them the past few months. Bring your friends and family out to celebrate! There will be a moonwalk, face painting, music &  MORE!
