Taco cravings have met their match with the arrival and grand opening of the long anticipated Austin based Torchy’s Tacos in The Woodlands.

News broke back in July of 2015 that Torchy’s would be coming to The Woodlands and residents have been waiting in anticipation every since.

On Tuesday February 15, Torchy’s held their pre grand opening party located at  4747 Research Forest Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77381 and gave away two free tacos, a side and a drink to every customer who was in line before 9 p.m. as advertised on their Facebook event page. This brought people from The Woodlands and surrounding areas which formed lines that lasted hours on end and wrapped around the building.

Around 6:00 p.m. Torchy’s announced on their Facebook page that if you checked in for the pre grand opening party that one person would have the opportunity to win FREE TACOS FOR A YEAR! We immediately checked in of course! No word on who won that year supply of deliciousness yet, but we’ll keep you posted.

According to Torchy’s management, they had prepared and expected to feed around 2,000 plus customers.

We managed to talk with the bar manager David and asked if his team was ready to handle all of these hungry customers. “Definitely, we have a support team that goes around to help open new locations and train new people. There was enough of an outcry for a closer Torchy’s location from people around The Woodlands area.”
