Michael Maher, Head of School of The John Cooper School, has announced the appointment of two new members to the administrative staff of the PK-12, college preparatory independent school.
“I am pleased to be bringing on board two exceptional administrators to join our executive leadership team,” Maher said.
Teresa Robson, who has served as Cooper’s Assistant Head of Lower School since 2010, will begin her tenure as Head of Lower School starting this summer.
Robson holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Elementary Education from Ohio State University, and a second master’s degree in Education from the Klingenstein Center for Independent School Education at Columbia University.
Her previous experienceincludes teaching third grade at Stewart Primary School in Cincinnati, Ohio and teaching fourth grade at Durham Academy in North Carolina.
John Hoye will also join the Cooper executive leadership team this summer, as Director of Athletics. A Wisconsin native, Hoye holds a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University in Education and a master’s degree from The University of
Houston in Educational Leadership. For the past four years, Hoye has been the Director of Athletics at the Awty International School in Houston. He was the head boys’ varsity basketball coach for his first 11 years at Awty and has coached Middle School girls’ volleyball, basketball and track & field. Prior to his tenure at Awty, Hoye was an assistant basketball coach for three years at Rice University.
