THE WOODLANDS, TX –Wimberley Glassworks will bring a dazzling array of hand-blown interior and exterior lighting designs and art-glass pieces to the 12th Annual Spring Home & Garden Show in The Woodlands, Saturday and Sunday, March 8 and 9 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott.

After taking a vacation in the Texas Hill Country and falling in love with the area, Canadian-born Tim deJong opened Wimberley Glassworks in 1991.

Today, the shop is widely acclaimed as the premier art glass and custom-lighting studio with pieces in homes around the world. The natural beauty of the Texas Hill Country sunsets and the turquoise blue of the Blanco River provide inspiration for deJong’s awe-inspiring pieces.

This is deJong’s first time to participate in the Home & Garden Show in The Woodlands.

“We pride ourselves on the custom work we do. Our lighting is made-to-order with numerous choices of glass patterns, shade shapes and fixtures to combine for customized handcrafted lighting that is a work of art. The piece becomes a focal point and compliments any space by creating ambiance,” said deJong.

On display at the show will be a completely handcrafted triple-oak tree lamp – The Texas Oak Chandelier – measuring 15 feet in diameter. The lamp, a collaborative effort of Wimberley Glassworks and Jimmy Harwell, a metal artist from Wimberley, holds 61 light shades and weighs 1,800 pounds.

As a special for the show, every visitor placing a blown-glass lighting order will also receive a set of four hand-blown Texas tea glasses. Learn more and view the gallery at wgw.com.
