Waste Connections, Inc. 6th Annual Golf Classic for Kids Raises Nearly $500,000 for Charity

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Waste Connections, Inc. hosted  its 6th annual Golf Classic for Kids on Monday, March 31 at The Woodlands Country Club Palmer Course.  Tournament festivities included a signature live auction which included trips to Napa Valley via private jet, a deep sea fishing trip, food, on course contests, a raffle, the legendary tequila Party Hole, and team prizes.  Proceeds from the tournament benefits seven charities:  Interfaith of The Woodlands, Covenant House Texas, Parish School, Inspiration Ranch, Montgomery County Youth Services, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of El Dorado County, California, and The Roger Clemens Foundation.  On hand to greet golfers and to play in the tournament was celebrity golfer and philanthropist “The Rocket” Roger Clemens.

Since the tournaments inception six years ago, the event has raised more than a million dollars for charities.  “Because of all of our vendors and friends, we have been able to raise an incredible amount of money for the charities that do such important work each day.  Waste Connections, Inc. is thrilled to be able to continue this tradition and continue making a difference in the lives of others,” said Jerri Hunt, Vice President of Employee Relations for Waste Connections, Inc.

Tournament festivities kicked off the evening before with a special cocktail reception for players and sponsors.
