In the mind of Bob Milner, creativity is essential to living. The co-owner of Mercedes-Benz of The Woodlands knows that – much like the Mercedes-Benz automobiles in his showroom are equal parts engineering and art – there needs to be a similar blending in the world at large.

This is a major reason why he has been a strong patron of the local arts scenes and has sponsored several events that are catered to bringing art and the arts to our area youth.

For the second year in a row, Mercedes-Benz of The Woodlands is supporting The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival. The festival, taking place this weekend, is a massive display of the best in creativity that the area has to offer.

“By lending our time and a helping hand to this festival, Mercedes-Benz of The Woodlands is committed to giving back to the community we call home,” said Milner. “We hope you’ll join us in support of these wonderful organizations that do so much for our growing community. The festival is a celebration of visual, culinary and performing arts that gives local artists a chance to show off their work, and gives local art enthusiasts a chance to interact with the artists themselves, helping enrich the culture and encourage participation in the arts.”

In addition to the festival itself, Milner has also been a major sponsor of The Woodlands Waterway Arts Council, which will be holding its annual Fast Draw Event, hosted by the Council’s “Because Art Matters” program. At last year’s event that was hosted at The Woodlands Mall, 48 talented 7th and 8th grade students from local schools had 50 minutes to draw their renditions of a still-life display presentation. Milner was one of the celebrity guest judges and presenter of the awards to the winning entrants.
