The March of Dimes, March for Babies in The Woodlands, TX – Montgomery County 2013 was a Great Success!

March of Dimes_1March of Dimes – The Woodlands, TX – Montgomery County 2013 was a success to say the least. The event started off with a few worship songs from Doc Holiday of Woodlands Church.

If you have never been to Woodlands Church and had the opportunity to see Doc Holiday sing, today was a chance to see him live and singing great worship songs.

Shortly after Bruce Tough of The Woodlands Township, spoke about The March of Dimes, when and why it was founded, and some of the great things it has done, and is doing for babies and mothers all over the world.

Just before the walk began, everyone was lined up and ready to go.

It was a wonderful feeling being surrounded by such wonderful and caring people, and knowing that the cause we were all walking for was a great one. There were many volunteers on site passing out food, and drinks and making sure all of the walkers were taken care of and ready to walk. There were also people spread out along the entire 3 mile walk, with stations set up including snacks and drinks. This was such a big help and I am sure everyone appreciated it.

Along the way throughout the nature trail part of the walk, these volunteers were very helpful keeping everyone on track, and moving in the right direction.

They were also holding neat signs with facts on them about March of Dimes, and many accomplishments that have been made by peoples contributions, donations, and giving from those just like today’s walkers.

March of Dimes_4The Walkers of Woodforest from Woodforest National Bank, were one of the many teams that had stations set up along the walk handing out snacks and drinks.

We would like to send a thanks out to each and every person that volunteered or worked at these stations. We came across their smiling faces and couldn’t resist stopping for a minute to chat. They were located almost towards the end of the walk, so at this point we were starting to rejoice in the fact that we had almost made it to the finish line.

Thanks to the sponsors and volunteers from the community and everyone else that participated or contributed, for helping make this such a great event. Including, but not limited to: HEB, James Coney Island, Woodforest National Bank, Anadarko Petroleum, Woodlands Church, McKesson, and many more.
